Iotics frees up its expertise and digital twin technology

15 April 2020: Like many tech companies, UK-based Iotics is keen to offer its skills and technology at no cost to support the fight against COVID-19. As a result, Iotics has launched its CriticalCare Project to help provide the real-time status of critical care bed availability across the UK, with the potential to add new sources of data for test results, ventilator utilisation, patient administration and more. Iotics’ innovative digital twin technology enables interactions between any asset – people, places or things – with access to all data and controls associated with them.

As part of the initial phase, Iotics has created a digital twin of every hospital in England with the number of critical care beds and is encouraging authorities and hospitals to provide the essential bed availability data: This would empower hospital managers to coordinate resources locally and direct patients to available beds and ventilators, while also providing a
national view of resources.

“The inability to access, mobilise and utilise data is having crippling effects on the public, first-responders, healthcare services and businesses,” said Robin Brattel, CEO at Iotics. “It is paramount to have access to all relevant data to make informed decisions, so at Iotics we can harness and integrate unstructured data stuck in multiple silos and make it available to the entire COVID-19 response ecosystem. We are currently talking to people at hospital, local and national level as well as other technology partners to see how we can accelerate deployment.”
